Set up for Windows XP

To dial into and log on to HEI Communications,Inc, you must create and configure a connection. This article describes how to create and configure a dial-up connection in Windows XP.
Configuring Dial-Up Connections
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Network and Internet Connections. In classic view, click on Internet Options. Internet Properties will come up, click on the Connection tab. Click on the setup button in the right hand top corner In the New Connection Wizard, click Connect to Internet, and then click Next. Click on "Set up my connection manually" and then click Next. Click "Connect using a dial up modem" then click Next. Connection Name = HEI Click Next Type the phone number local in your area.* Click Next Specify whether you want this connection to be available for anyone's use, meaning for any user on this computer, or for your use only, meaning only for the user who is now logged on. Click Next Type in your username username=username@hei.net Type in your password comfirm your password Specify whether you want a shortcut to the connection on your desktop. Click Finish.
Using Dial-Up Connections
Click Start, click Connect To, and then click HEI. Make sure the Save this user name anad password for the following users Click Dial. Click here for dial up numbers * We are not responsible for long distant calls, it is up to the customer to make sure the number is local to them in their area. If you are unsure if the call will be local, you will need to call your phone company and verify that it is local to you.
