Windows Vista Mail Setup: Click on the Windows Logo button or Start button and select Email(Windows Mail). Click on Tools at the top of the screen and select Accounts. Click the Add button on the right side of the window. Select Email Account” and push the Next Button. You will be prompted for a “Display Name”. This is your real name, e.g., John Smith. Enter it and click Next. Enter your e-mail address (e.g., username@hei.net) and click next For “Incoming Email Server Type” select POP3 from the drop down menu. In the “Incoming Mail Server” box type mail.hei.net In the “Outgoing Mail Server” box type mail.hei.net then click Next Enter your account name = username@hei.net Enter your password in the password fields Click Next. Check the box labeled “Do Not Download My Email at This Time.” In the Internet Accounts dialog box Click on properties Click on servers Check the checkbox that says "My server requires Authentication" Click Apply Click on Advanced Server port number for the (SMTP) will show 25 we want to change that to 465, but before you change the number, click in the checkbox that says "This server requires a secure connection (SSL) Do not change the incoming info. Click Apply
